1981 Don Aronow – Cigarette Squadron XII 27
A Rare Piece of Offshore Racing History
For serious collectors and enthusiasts of classic offshore performance boats, this is a rare opportunity to own an icon. Designed by the legendary Don Aronow, the Cigarette Squadron XII 27 is not just a boat – it’s a living chapter of powerboat racing history.
Cigarette Squadron XII was Don Aronow's next venture after he left the iconic Cigarette brand. After selling the Cigarette Racing Team in 1979, he included a non-compete clause in the sales contract – despite this, he soon founded the company Squadron XII, which allowed him to build exclusive boats in a limited run.
Built in 1981, this is one of only around 20 ever produced. Its deep-V hull shares DNA with the Magnum, the forefather of many successful raceboats that followed. Power comes from the original MerCruiser Cyclone 400 coupled to the original TRS drive.
This is an extremely rare opportunity to acquire an authentic Don Aronow classic in unusually complete original condition. With the right touch, she could be restored to show-winning glory or enjoyed as a head-turning café cruiser with true racing pedigree.
Shippingcost to Florida is aprox 5 500 USD.
